3 Wheeler Buggies
A three-wheel buggy is great for tackling off-road terrain and provides an easy ride for your baby. They are also easier to maneuver and push than a four-wheel buggy, especially those with fabric sling seats or seats that are set perfectly within the frame, providing the best ergonomics and weight distribution.
Stability
Three-wheeled vehicles are very stable, and this makes them an ideal choice for off-road walking (especially when they are equipped with a seat unit that is all-terrain or off-road). They often feature oversized front wheels, which cope well with bumps and kerbs as well as rough ground. Some models even come with a lockable front wheel for extra stability on uneven terrain.
It is important to keep in mind that 3-wheel buggies have lower centers of gravity than 4-wheeled versions and, therefore, could fall more easily. A three-wheeled stroller is a great option for those who run or enjoy walking fast uphill. This is particularly true if you are planning to connect an infant car seat or carrycot. The Roma Atlas is a great example, offering a world-facing seat that can recline flat and has improved 5-point harness and storage space for all your kit (plus an extension of 50+ sun hood). It's lightweight, compact and suitable for babies and can be used in conjunction with car seats or a carrycot. It also allows for a bit of light jogging, but isn't designed for serious runners.
Weight
If you're seeking a buggy that can tackle difficult terrain, then you should select one with large tires. They will be able to handle cobbles, grass and dirt tracks, and provide a smooth ride for any passenger. They are also ideal for jogging because they come with built-in suspension and are able to climb up and down kerbs. However, the downside is that they can be quite heavy to push.

Seating
There are many alternatives for seating options in 3 wheelers. The carrycot included is ideal for a baby (which MFM reviewer Alice describes as a cozy and comfortable lay-flat bed that can be used both in and out of the buggy). Older infants and toddlers will enjoy the spacious and padded seat unit with adjustable ventilation. It is important to note that the seats don't recline fully however they can be adjusted to the lowest position which will give your child plenty of headroom and space to move around.
A sling seat made of cloth is also available. It has the advantage of being set snugly inside the frame instead of sitting on top as the modular seat. This delivers a much lower centre of gravity as well as a perfect weight distribution. This makes it easier to push, particularly over bumpy terrain and curbs. MFM reviewer Kath liked the way this type of seat handled obstacles.
In addition to a large shopping basket, this type of buggy typically has some quite useful features, such as an extendable 50+ UV hood, an easy-to-use brake pedal and some game-changing visibility lights that pop up from the handlebar and can be placed in front of the passengers to increase their safety when traversing difficult terrain.

Stores
The 3-wheeled frame is much more stable and can be pushed with one hand. It's also ideal for terrain that is difficult. However, it means that the shopping basket doesn't hold the same amount as a 4-wheeled buggy.
A high-quality ATP will have a top suspension, pneumatic tyres and an ergonomic handle that is cushioned for your comfort. It should be able to accommodate a carrycot or a car seat, meaning you can use it from the time of birth.
MFM's reviewers discovered that the 3-wheeler frames didn't fit through their home's doors or car boot. If you're worried about space, be sure to verify the dimensions of the buggy once it is folded before purchasing.
Choose a 3-wheeler with 2 (or 3!) seats. seats as your family grows. They are the most efficient of both and can help you to save money in the future. Tyres
These tyres absorb bumps and uneven surfaces to make your child's ride more comfortable. You'll find these on pushchairs such as the Phil & Ted's Sport which MFM reviewer Kath discovered to provide "an outstanding ride for my toddler". She also noted that the grippy tyres on the Phil and Ted's Sport made it easy for her to negotiate the kerbs and other obstacles.
These tyres can sometimes prove tricky to keep inflated and must be topped up frequently. They are also more vulnerable to punctures than foam tyres. So it is essential that you have a repair kit, spare inner tube and pump handy when out and about with your buggy.
3 wheel pushchair can be used on pushchairs because they are a cheaper option than air-filled tyres but are just as durable. You can recognise PU tire treads by their matte appearance and soft, smooth feel. They also slide across flat and tidy surfaces.
You can usually identify the difference between air-filled and PU tire by running your fingers over each one. If it feels firm, then it's rubber and when it slides, it's a PU. You can also test if your buggy is fitted with PU tyres, by sliding them on flat, clean surfaces. They should roll smoothly and fit snugly into wheel hubs.
Foam tyres can withstand the rough terrain associated with high-performance buggies. The drawback is that the foam could shrink and make your buggy feel less stable since it loses its springy quality. These tyres also make a lot of noise because they generate lots of noise when you turn and navigate around town.
